It is our belief that the future of the Church is directly linked to the ministry of Catholic education. It is this belief that motivates us to grow the corpus of the Foundation. We encourage you to join us in “Renewing the Spirit of our School, Parish and Faith.”
After considerable discussion and planning, the combined leadership of the St. John Vianney Foundation and the School have crafted and committed themselves to a unified vision of infusing nearly a half million dollars annually into the operation of the parish school. This added revenue will support a variety of areas from program quality, to teacher development, to tuition subsidy. This bold vision will not be accomplished immediately, but will be pursued on a parish level over the next decade through planned strategies.
To accomplish this vision and make Catholic education a priority at St. John Vianney Parish, much must be done. Accordingly, the leadership of the Foundation has approved a strategic plan of action that will seek parishioner and non-parishioner support in moving the assets of the Foundation from a level of $1 million to a total Foundation value of $10 million.
The first step in this crucial endeavor will be the parish wide “Renewing the Spirit, for our School, Parish & Faith” Campaign to secure $4 million in new and pledged gifts. Meeting this goal will move the SJV Foundation to the half way point in fulfilling its vision. However, the Foundation will not wait until that goal is met to increase its support of the parish school. Following Foundation guidelines, new gifts and payments on pledges will be invested and interest used to make grants to the school. Even before the $5 million asset level is reached, the Foundation will be in a position to increase its annual support based on new fund levels and returns on investment.
The investment of past generations is producing an educated, Catholic laity committed to their faith as evidenced by their attendance at Sunday Mass, a high sense of social justice, greater consideration of a religious vocation and a life-long desire to participate financially and socially in the work of their Church and community.
